Autumn is my favorite season. I love watching the leaves change from green to orange, red, yellow, and brown. The weather is also gorgeous during this time of the year. It’s not excruciatingly hot like summer or freezing cold like winter. It is also not as unpredictable and windy as it is in the spring.
I wish my life is similar to Autumn. Mild in temperature, colorful, and beautiful.
The last seasons have been unbearably difficult for me. I went through all winter long mourning for my father’s passing. Then spring painfully surprised me with the return of my child’s cancer. In the summer I was dealing with uncertainties in life. But this autumn, just like the changing of the leaves, my life is also changing. The falling leaves symbolize a new beginning. A life without tears, pain, and suffering.
Cancer is gone.
That’s a relief! Cancer defeated! Stay healthy especially your youngest. 🙂

I will miss seeing the leaves change it’s colours, as we have left NZ for a better tomorrow living in UAE (as an expat) which is always summer.

Your reflections on your son’s illness and your father’s passing is very poignant. The title of your blog “In the Wrong Boots” struck a very familiar chord with me, as you might already realize. Your post “My Life in Seasons” made me think of Ecclesiastes 3:4.. and of the old song “Turn, Turn, Turn” by the Byrds. Thank you for visiting my new blog Boots. I’ve got a long way to go with my writing. Know that my prayers are with you. – Larry

It has been a very emotional year for me and I decided that when everything goes smoothly at home, I will be on a plane to Nepal for some soul searching. The mountains are somehow calling me! I enjoyed reading your Kathmandu post. I look forward to reading more from you. Your writing is very beautiful. Thank you for the prayers, Larry!

The trails of Nepal are a place for seeking and soul searching. You will meet others doing the same. Traveling to Nepal was for me, was a chance to fulfill a life-long dream. Hiking those trails are not easy. I really learned to live the idea of “one step at a time”, both on the trail and in my personal life. And, since the earthquake, there are new and bigger challenges for the people of Nepal. But, the people of Nepal are among the kindest, and most genuine, that I have met anywhere. I hope that you get that opportunity to visit Nepal Boots.

Does it get cold in Doha? It’s a shame I know nothing about the place but glad for your blog to educate me more

It is technically the “winter” now in Doha but we don’t have four seasons here. Only summer and winter.
I was talking about the autumn in US though on previous comment. :p
